We are very excited to share with your our plans for International Day for Biological Diversity (IDB).
As a Chapter of the Global Youth Biodiversity Network (GYBN), the youth constituency for Biodiversity, we are leading the activities and celebrations for this year’s IDB.
2nd Biodiversity And Nature Conservation Symposium (BANCS2020)
The second Biodiversity and Nature Conservation Symposium will be organized online. ZYBN marks IDB with a symposium held to promote the importance of protecting, conserving and improving biodiversity. Each Symposium focuses on a specific theme, the subject of which has been drawn from a variety of local and international environmental events and movements. This year, the theme is aligned with the UN International Day of Biological Diversity – “Our Solutions Are In Nature”
Over Biodiversity Week (May 18-22), ZYBN will flood the digital landscape with conversations, calls to action, empowering videos, exciting activities and about the vital links between biodiversity and climate change, traditional knowledge, health, food security, culture and totems.
The week will lead up to the International Day for Biological Diversity on May 22 where all the themes from the week will come together, highlighting our relationship with Biodiversity and with Nature.
To commemorate the IDB in a unique way that connects and unites youth and communities in Zimbabwe. Our focus is to build a national network of leaders that will help shape the vision and actions for a better future with a healthier biodiversity that sustains us all.
