How We Take Action
ZYBN works on a range of issues at the local, national, regional and global levels. Through our actions, ZYBN seeks to inspire Zimbabwean youth and future leaders to work for the sustainable use and conservation of biodiversity for a healthy environment and society.
Project: Saving the Samanga Monkeys
ZYBN is currently working on a project aimed at highlighting the plight of the Samanga Monkeys and the threats they face from deforestation and climate change. This project also focuses on engaging young people to actively participate in preserving their surrounding biodiversity.
Annual Biodiversity And Nature Conservation Symposium (BANCS)
BANCS2019
The first BANCS was held in 2019 under the theme Young People For Nature. The symposium is held annually to promote the importance of
protecting, conserving and improving biodiversity. Each Symposium focuses on a specific theme, the subject of which is drawn from a variety of local and international environmental events and movements.
BANCS2020
This year the symposium will take place from 18-22 May during the biodiversity week of action. The week will include webinars, panel discussions and trivia.
